DDAM 2026: We're Here - Then, Now, Always
Quality Connections is proud to be part of a national campaign to highlight the past achievements and future potential of individuals with developmental disabilities.
Every March, we celebrate Development Disabilities Awareness Month. This year’s theme is We’re Here: Then, Now, Always. It recognizes a simple truth: people with developmental disabilities have always been part of our communities and always will be.
Then represents a dark time for our community, a time when people with developmental disabilities were hidden and excluded from community life.
Now, individuals with disabilities are living full lives – working, building friendships and families and fully integrated into our communities.
And Always is where Quality Connections’ mission lies, because continuing to remove and reduce barriers to school, work, recreation, and community involvement is what we do every day.
The campaign highlights how far the disability community has come and why continued advocacy efforts have strengthened the commitment to inclusion and community living.
There are several ways you can help in this mission and empower individuals with developmental disabilities:
- HIRE Individuals with Disabilities: Help create inclusive workplaces that recognize ability over disability. Quality Connections has placement services for individual hires (including support services for employers).
- ADVOCATE and Raise Awareness: Learn more about developmental disabilities and how to break down barriers to greater inclusivity. Speak up when you see someone being insensitive or discriminatory.
- DONATE: Your generosity helps us provide life-changing programs for the individuals we serve.
This month, let’s go beyond awareness and commit to supporting individuals with disabilities – always.
