Brewing Up a Partnership

Welcome to QC Enews Empowerment

On summer nights in Flagstaff, there’s nothing like being on the patio of the Mother Road Brewing Company near the heart of downtown, enjoying a lager or IPA.

Since opening in 2011, Mother Road has become the state’s third-largest independent craft brewer. But the crew behind the brew is so much more than that. Mother Road Brewing Company is not only committed to creating wonderful beers; it also is a powerful supporter of local  nonprofits and building community “one pint at a time.”

Which is why we are so proud of our partnership with them.

Learn more below about how are members are keeping the Tap Room’s award-winning patio in tip-top shape and plan on joining us on Wednesday, June 21 (the first day of summer!) for a Community Pint Night to benefit Quality Connections.

We hope you enjoy this edition of Enews Empowerment.

QC Members A Valued Part of the Mother Road Team

A little over a year ago, Mother Road Brewing Company became an employment site for Quality Connection, with members working at both the Tap Room and Brewery to keep the company’s patios and parking lots sparkling.

In fact, when Mother Road Brewing Company’s Tap Room won the Best Outdoor Patio in the Arizona Daily Sun’s Best of Flag competition last year, People & Culture Manager Makayla Gill said part of the credit belonged to these employees.

“The level of cleanliness needed to earn this award would not have been possible without the diligent efforts of the members of Quality Connections,” she said.

However, our members bring more than just stellar janitorial skills to the brewery, said Mother Road Storyteller Sophia Hoffman.

“They are just so helpful,” Sophia said. “It brightens our day to see them; they come in with such a positive attitude.”

In addition to cleaning, Sophia said, members also help with preparing orders of office supplies for Mother Road. The company gets some of its products from QC Office, our social enterprise arm that provides employment opportunities for our members and helps fund Quality Connections programs.

According to Makayla, Mother Road’s employee-run Community Committee has requested additional ways to partner with Quality Connections to further our ability to serve the community.

One of those ways will be on Wednesday, June 21, when Mother Road hosts a Community Pint Night to support Quality Connections. For every pint of Daily Driver purchased between 4 and 7 pm that evening, $2 will go to Quality Connections.

We hope you join us and raise a glass of this juicy pale ale with its tropical, citrus notes – a perfect potent potable for the first day of summer.

Quality Connections looks forward to deepening our partnership with Mother Road Brewing Company and are grateful for their commitment to improving the quality of life for our adult members with intellectual and developmental disabilities by helping them progress towards greater independence.

We need Quality Connections . . . like you!

You can help individuals with disabilities become independent and productive members of our community. There are many way to be a ‘Quality Connection’ and get involved and all of them are important:

Every purchase from QC Office equals employment and job training opportunities for a person with disabilities.

Enable a person with disabilities to become a productive member of our community.

You’ll be doing good. Plus, you’ll get a dollar-for-dollar credit on your AZ state taxes (up to $800!)
