How to Help
Why Your Organization Should Hire Workers with Disabilities
When we empower people with disabilities and remove the barriers that keep them in the workforce, everybody wins.
That includes businesses, which with minor accommodations can enjoy the many benefits that come from hiring workers with disabilities.
Through our Employment Services program, we empower and prepare them through job training, mentorship, and support to help them become effective members of the local workforce.
With Quality Connections, your business or organization will be supported every step of the way, whether you hire an individual or a crew to help out at your business.
Our work training crews are perfect solutions for businesses needing light janitorial, yard work, maintenance, hanging promotion items on doors, and unskilled labor. You pay a flat hourly rate for our crew, and Quality Connections provides on-site supervision and quality assurance, while handling all wages, insurance, and benefits.
Our individual QC members apply for jobs just like their non-disabled counterparts, providing a cover letter, resume and/or an application form depending on your requirements. You’ll interview our candidate, often with a Job Coach on hand to help answer any questions you might have.
And our support doesn’t end when you hire one of our clients. Our Job Coach will visit the workplace on a regular basis to make sure the job is a good fit for both our client and your workplace. We are committed to making sure every hire is successful for both parties.
The Business Case for Hiring Individuals with Disabilities
Research consistently demonstrates that inclusive hiring practices lead to tangible business advantages. From the Financial Times to the Harvard Business Review, several publications have identified how hiring individuals with disabilities can improve a company’s culture and make them more competitive. They include:
- Enhanced Financial Performance. A study by Accenture revealed that companies actively employing people with disabilities outperform their peers, achieving higher revenues and net profits.
- Improved Employee Retention and Attendance: Studies indicate that employees with disabilities often exhibit greater job loyalty and lower absenteeism rates compared to their non-disabled counterparts.
- Highly adaptive workers. Individuals with disabilities often go through quite different life experiences than people without disabilities. This creates a set of unique adaptive skills that can translate into innovative thinking and problem-solving.
- Elevating the culture of your entire organization. The presence of employees with disabilities tends to make workplaces more collaborative.
- Enhancing your company’s reputation. Being known for inclusiveness enhances a company’s value proposition with customers or clients.
